Skin Tags
Skin tags are small pockets of skin commonly found on the face, eyelids and neck, but they can appear anywhere on the body. They look like little flaps of skin resembling a teardrop. Most skin tags are 2-3mm in size, and larger skin tags (known as papilloma) can reach 5mm or more.
Although skin tags are harmless, they can cause embarrassment especially if they are on the face.
At Synergy, we can assess the size and location of your skin tag and safely remove it using the innovative CryoPen™ in a highly clinical environment.
The CryoPen™ is an efficient, safe solution for removal of skin tags. It works by emitting a fine jet of nitrous oxide under high pressure, which allows our practitioners to work with millimetre precision. This jet destroys the skin tag by freezing the inter-cellular fluid, forming ice shards and crystals, which rupture the membrane, thereby killing the cell. There is no damage to the healthy tissue surrounding the skin tag, and it takes just 5 to 30 seconds.
Your Treatment
The first step is to freeze the skin tag. To do this, the applicator is positioned on the skin tag and moved quickly towards and away from it. It takes between 1 and 30 seconds, depending on the size of the skin tag. The tissue is left to thaw for about 30 seconds before the first step is repeated and the skin tag is frozen again.
